Erin is a co-founder of the neesh. She's been designing spaces since the dollhouse days, and somewhere along the way it turned into a career — though it's never stopped feeling like the same thing. Big project or small, the pleasure is identical.
Erin has spent her career working both sides of the practice: design and project management. That's an unusual pairing, and it's the source of most of what makes working with her different. She knows what a drawing costs to build, what a schedule does to a team, and where a project tends to go sideways well before it does. Clients get the foresight. Teams get the empathy.
But ask Erin what she actually loves about the work, and it's less about scope and schedule and more about the people in the room. The satisfaction of a team that clicks, a young designer who figures something out, a process that stays generous under pressure. Her conviction is that investing in people at the beginning sets off a chain of positivity that runs all the way through to the finished building — that a project made well tends to also be a project made better.
That instinct shows up in how she's known: warm, accessible, quick to trust, and genuinely curious. She's a solutions person who likes not knowing something yet, and she treats every project as a chance to find a different way of doing it, or a better one. It's also why she's the mentor people seek out — she takes other people's ambitions as seriously as her own.
Outside the office, Erin is a maker by reflex. She sews, she redecorates, she rearranges a room until it's right — the same restlessness that makes her good at this work, just pointed at her own house. Her skills come most alive when dealing with the "soft and squishy:" painting, tilework (both layout and installation), and anything related to fabric (upholstery, curtains, pillows, etc.) She also loves the outdoors and being in motion: cycling, running, dancing, and heading somewhere she hasn't been yet.
Erin lives in Corte Madera, where the making, the moving, and the design thinking all co-mingle through her unique, non-linear thinking and action.
